A find when visiting Brad's Aunt!

Mary Jane Dall Sylvester (center) and Her husand George (right), (Brad's maternal grandparents), horse back riding near their home in Knightsville, Utah. During the town's peak it was only one of two mining camps in Utah without saloons or red-light districts. George made his living as a miner. The George and Mary Jane Sylvester Family in front of the Manti temple 1924 on their sealing day. Brad's mom, Ada Sylvester and Aunt Ruth are in front!

This summer I had a nice genealogy find in regards to Brad's family. Since Brad & I married three years ago I have been trying to connect with people to help me bring Brad's family history to life. One thing I love about my husband is the special relationship he had with his parents and his siblings. The Kings are basically the nicest family ever. They are all very good to each other, but the one thing I noticed was a lack of some shared family history. The last serveral years Brad and I have traveled down to visit his Aunt Ruth, and we had such wonderful visits. The last visit we took was with Rip and Leslie, Leslie is Brad's sister. I had asked several times for pictures but never really got anything from Ruth, but when Leslie came down she just took over and really found us some valuable pictures that I want to share.

A Note from the Past......

I have been working on my (step) 2nd great grandmother's genealogy with my cousin Randy, her name was Angelina Lewis Schweikert. I hate to even call her a step because she lovingly raised my Great Grandmother who lost her mother when she was two years old. Not only did Angelina raise 8 of my great-great grandmothers siblings but she had 9 of her own children with my GG grandfather John Schweikert. Below is a note that was attached to her marriage certificate that we just located, the note gives permission from Angelina's father, (Andrew), for Angelina, (28 years old at the time), to marry John Schweikert, age 47!
Let me translate:

June the 14th 1873
"Let John Schweikert have license, the girl is daughter Angelina Lewis,
Andrew Lewis"

My daughter Angela will be having her baby around Nov 15th, and Brad's daughter Jamie will be expecting around Christmas. Both of them are having baby girls, we are over the top with excitement. Angela is naming her baby Esther Rose, and Jamie is naming her little girl Isla Jean.

The Robinson's come home to Visit

After coming home from Hawaii we were greeted with a visit from Angela and Asher while Aaron studied for his finals in St. Louis. At the end of the month Aaron came to visit and we had an early 2nd birthday party for Asher. Sherry made the cookie monster cake for him. We had a big party with lots of friends, neighbors, and family.

Our Trip To Hawaii

Brad & I, and Rip and Leslie went on a 10 day cruise to Hawaii, we simply had a blast. It was Rip and Leslie's 25 year wedding anniversary and our belated honeymoon. We took advantage of all that the cruise had to offer from volleyball, to the sexy leg contest the guys agreed to enter. It was all in good fun!
We came in first place during at a basketball shootout and enjoyed nights out dancing and dining.

Christmas Morning!

Christmas Morning was so fun with Asher. He loved opening all the
presents and playing with the wrapping paper as much as the toys he got!

Christmas Eve Opening New Pajamas

Every year we have a tradition of a big Christmas Eve Dinner and spiritual thought and then we open one gift, and that gift is always pajama's! We throw our PJ's on and play games or watch a movie or whatever!

Asher meets Santa Claus

Asher and Angela were able to come home alittle earlier than expected, this gave Aaron some alone time so he could study without interruption for his finals. Asher was so much fun, he is doing so many new things like counting and saying his alphabet, he also learned to say the word "mommy" ! The picture to the right is at my company party and I believed Asher was traumatized by the experience, he was totally terrified of Santa Claus. Needless to say he may always have a fear of men in red suites, hope there is not to many men like that walking around. !
