Brad's Accident
As some of you might know Brad was in an car accident while at work at Bremerton, Washington three weeks ago. He caused us all quite a scare! He is feeling much better now, but has been frustrated with his broken finger and the pain it is causing him. The accident hasn't stopped him though he has been assigned to storm duty now in the Malibu, California, and I worry about him every second!

April's Haines Wedding

In
September we traveled down to Southern California to attend my niece, (my sister Patty's daughter) April's wedding. Angela and Asher were able to fly down and join us. We had a total blast and Asher got to meet his 2ND cousin Sadie, who is the daughter of my other niece Alicia (Aprils Sister) and her husband Nick. To the left top is cousins Sadie & Asher, left middle picture is my sister Patty and me and our families playing cards, bottom left is Brad and Asher, and of coarse to the right is my niece April.
Asher's First Birthday
Aaron, Angela, and Asher move to St.Louis
Aaron got accepted to medical school in St. Louis, so on July 5th they packed up all their belongings and moved. I have to admit that seeing them go was one of the saddest days of my life. Of course you are so happy to see your children doing well, but it is painful to watch them go. We are very fortunate though that we live in the day of web-cams and we use it to the max! I think that it will help Asher remember all of us so we aren't strangers when he comes back for a visit.
Our New Pass-time!

After we got married Brad introduced me to a new pass-time.....running. I remember the first time he took me out and I could hardly run 1/2 mile before feeling I was going to pass out. Well, Brad was so patient and for months he dragged me along on his runs and then finally, one day, I realized that I liked it and decided to push a little harder, then the big step.... we signed up for an event. Our first event was "the run to feed the hungry" in Sacramento. Brad, Angela, and I ran the 10K and Amanda, Aaron, and Austin ran the 5K. The second event was Pirates Cove Trail Run, which was a half marathon that Brad's daughter Jamie came down and ran with us. Running the hills of the Marin Headlands (by San Francisco) was tough but we did finished and we had a great time together. Lastly Brad, Jamie, and her finance Ian, decided to sign upfor a Triatholon in Coleville, Washington. We biked 28 miles, 1/2 mile swim and 6 mile run. It took us 4 hours but we finally finished. I think that will always be a fond memory because they announced all the people crossing the finish line and Brad and I finished together, I was exhausted but Brad just kept encouraging me on, when we went over the finish like I could hear the announcer say that "Brad and Kris King" finished the race and announced our time. Really cool. I love sharing my life with my husband.

Bringing Two Families Together

Brad and I met on a online dating service, we had a blast emailing back and forth for a couple months. We decided to meet on Halloween weekend. My first memories of Brad was seeing him come down the escalator at the Sacramento Airport with a rose in his hand. After our first meeting I had many "home" catastrophes befall on me.... first my fence blew over and then my roof starting leaking. I wonderd how I would ever pay to get them fix. At that time Brad was the "service leader" in his ward and he let me know it was his duty to help me, and oh, I really thought he was kidding! But the next week Brad came down for a long weekend and worked like a dog repairing not only the fence but had to re cement in all the posts. Oh, what a hard job it was and he was determined to get it done before he left. In December when the roof was majorly leaking, water was literally flooding my back bathroom, Brad took one week off and repaired my roof. I was just overcome with gratitude, so what did I do?????????? Of course I married him!
